Asian stocks rose on last trading day of the week
Asian stocks finished the day higher in Friday’s trading, led by bank stocks following news that banks will make new arrangements for their investments, despite a rise in coronavirus case numbers.
Stocks in Japan and South Korea trailed below average volumes. While Australia recorded a rise, Hong Kong opened with a slight drop following Thursday’s holiday.
China, however, remained closed.
Index Summaries
– Japan’s Topix index rose 0.8 percent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index, down 0.6 percent.
Australia’s S & P / ASX 200 Index rose 0.7 per cent.
South Korea’s Kospi index rose 0.7 percent.
