The Italian Stock Exchange is the Milan-based Borsa İtaliana. The Italian Stock Exchange (originally Borsa Italiana S.p.A.) is also known as the Milan Stock Exchange. Established in 1808 and with a history of more than 2 centuries, the Italian Bourse was privatized in 1997, but privatization orders came into effect as of January 1998. With the acquisition of the Italian Stock Exchange by Euronext on June 23, 2007, Borsa Italiana joined the London Stock Exchange Group and became a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange.
