The most important issues of the world are discussed at the meetings held in Davos. World Economic Forum Foundation and Purpose
The World Economic Forum (WEF) was established in 1971. Klaus Schwap, who was Professor of Business Administration at the University of Geneva in those years, initiated this formation under the name of the European Management Forum. In 1987, the European Management Forum was renamed the World Economic Forum. It is aimed to solve international problems by expanding the vision of the forum. European businessmen were invited first to this forum, which does not have any economic purpose. The invitation of political leaders to the meetings held in Davos in January every year began in 1974. The purpose of the forum is defined as improving the situation of the world. For this purpose, the World Economic Forum not only discusses important issues, but also publishes various research reports and supports studies in different sectors.
